Ivan Shpak is the founder of SOYAPRESS, a publishing house and bureau operating across contemporary art, design, and print. Working with artists, institutions, and independent cultural projects, he approaches publishing as a space where editorial vision, visual language, and production intelligence meet. At once a publisher and a bureau, SOYAPRESS moves between artist books, magazines, catalogues, and special commissions, developing books as authored objects while also producing editorial and print-driven projects for cultural and commercial clients.

Born in Bratsk, Irkutsk Region, and based in Moscow since 2009, Shpak works across publishing, technical direction, design, and sound. His CV frames this practice through the overlapping roles of artistic/production director, manufacturing engineer, and product designer, with project experience spanning Garage Museum of Contemporary Art, the Riga International Biennial of Contemporary Art, Triennale di Milano, Victoria & Albert Museum, and The Armory Show. In 2019, he produced the Russian pavilion The Moscow River Age at the 22nd Triennale di Milano, a project that received the Wax Bee Award. Beyond publishing, he also works under the name Quiescent Current; the 2024 release Natural Response credits him with mastering, mixing, programming digital effects, and co-writing two tracks, extending his practice into sound as another form of composition and production.
